Beanstalk the Measure of a Giant by Ann McCallum

Beanstalk: The Measure of a Giant (Illustrated by James Balkovek)

In this new twist on a beloved tale, Jack climbs the beanstalk and finds a new friend. Only, the friend is a GIANT who is five times Jack’s height! They try to play ball, but the ball is almost as big as Jack. They try to play with Jack’s games, but the perfect size for Jack is far too small for the giant. Indeed, when Jack invites his new friend home, they both realize just how big the problem really is! How can the two ever play together? In this story of a 4-foot boy and a 20-foot giant, it turns out that ratio and proportion save the day. After all, it’s not how tall you are, but how big your heart is when it comes to being a friend!
